Welcome to OWBA!

Sixteen years ago when the Township of Osgoode was amalgamated within the National Capital Region, it became one of the largest rural and agricultural areas in Ottawa. Since then, many efforts have been made to provide services and networking opportunities to certain communities in the Osgoode Ward. However, there has never been an umbrella organization to provide services to meet the strategic needs of local businesses, including the agricultural community, so that they can all be part of an overall rural economic development strategy supporting both light and heavy industrial startups.

The Osgoode Ward Business Association (OWBA) is a non-profit organization created by concerned business persons supported by our local politicians with a vision of turning this existing rural economic development situation into a positive and sustained opportunity for networking, support and growth for more than 600 businesses that form a vital part of economic development in the Osgoode Ward.

OWBA is focused on providing business management resources, access to a network of business services, monthly newsletters, information sessions, networking events, a website with information that is important to businesses in Osgoode Ward, advocacy at all levels of government, and political support along with other services to be determined by its membership. OWBA’s mission is dedicated to ensuring that the business community will have a forceful voice in the rural economic development of Osgoode Ward that includes agricultural businesses and self employed individuals.

On November 24, 2015 OWBA had an inaugural meeting at the Metcalfe Town Hall where over 100 local business owners and residents had an opportunity to be heard not only by the founders of OWBA but also by your constituency representatives including Councillor George Darouze, your provincial MPP Lisa MacLeod, your federal MP, Pierre Poilievre, and the Mayor of Ottawa the Hon. Jim Watson.

We look forward welcoming your business into our association.

Yours sincerely,

OWBA Executive Team
